Who referred you to the Soccer Interactive Community? (Or how did you find it?)
I founded the Soccer Interactive Community.
Who is your favorite team(s)?
New England Revolution, Barcelona, Arsenal and Fulham
Tell us more about your coaching and/or playing experience?
I have my State D Licenses and NSCAA National Diploma. Have done some coaching for Soccer Extreme and currently coach my daughters U8 team. I won two state championships as a player at Ridgefield High School in CT and am now playing on an Over 40 team in MA.
What are your development goals as a coach, player or parent?
I love the Socratic method of learning and am always looking for new games or exercises that allow the players to solve problems themselves. One of my favorite coaching concepts was created by Horst Wein in his "Developing Game Intelligence" series.
"I have not seen any reports on that yet. You could do a simple survey by going to Itunes and looking up soccer coach apps and see how many times the have been downloaded to give you some basic round numbers."
I found this information when doing a Google search. See the attached PDF from Kentucky youth soccer for more detail and how they assign points to individual players in small sided games as part of their recommended tryout…"
Thanks for the message on joining. I know a big delay! We have been in process of our Academy being audited so has been a crazy 5 months. A first for English football to have this system done, with full results in September, a challenge for all English Academies to raise the bar and look at how we do things.
A mention by Robin Russell, excellent. Yes Statzpack at its core is a simple to use notational analysis system for soccer. So if you are looking to observe and record certain playing behaviour/outcomes (not just who scored, shots etc), its good for that too. You can effectively customise what you tag/record - even simple '+ & -' .
We did some work with a premier league team back in 2009, and when they couldnt avail of prozone, they used a basic Positive and Negative measure scale - where they had a defined set of behaviors/events which were deemed to be either or.
In the US, some coaches are using the system to track the performance evaluation criteria set out in the US Soccer curriculum.
Thanks for the welcome and the information Tim! I'm just trying to explore, educate and research so that I can bring the best possible product to Northern Nevada. I look forward to everything that soccerinteractive.com has to offer! I've already found some valuable information and would be completely interested in any educational webinars or eLearning that you offer. It's a bit difficult to find local resources and soccerinteractive makes it easier to connect with those with greater experience than I. Thanks again! Look for my other coaches signing up in the near future!
Yes Tim, though I am also trying to find out how to create my own custom practice session plan, bringing in available activities. Also it would be nice if there was a way if I was working with someone from Soccerplus, to be able to share custom sessions.
Thanks Tim for your warm welcome and for taking the time to review my company, Class Athlete. I will spend some time this week reading through many of the blogs and comments from so many coaches and soccer enthusiasts on your site. I hope to contribute as much as I can of my experience to the online community.
thank you very much i find your letter to me encouraging, currently iam looking for better paying coaching job ,can you link me with other organisation that needs a coach because as coaches we also need a decent and comfortable life
Nothing new to report here in Chicago. So far we're lagging behind most of the MLS in home grown first team signings, but we're hoping that will change in the near future.
We're perhaps a little more selective than most about signing youth to professional contracts, but it's all relative. The youth system at the Fire is undergoing some positive changes to try and stay ahead of the youth development game.
